West Michigan Computer Care supports residential customers in Kalamazoo, Portage and the surrounding area. We are actively involved in the our community, promoting computer education and awareness of Internet security and privacy issues. We proudly serve the generation that did not grow up with computer technology – including senior citizens. Tim Cooper, founder and owner of West Michigan Computer Care, has taught computer classes at the Portage Senior Center, Friendship Village and other locations that serve seniors.

Most computer service and repair providers require you to disconnect the wires, haul the parts across town, then attempt to figure out how to hook everything back up again. West Michigan Computer Care can eliminate this hassle with in-home service. We can often troubleshoot and solve many problems on-site. However, it is sometimes necessary to take your computer back to our shop to perform certain services and repairs.

  • Virus and spyware removal: Unfortunately, viruses and spyware are becoming more and more common. If your computer is infected, don't panic. West Michigan Computer Care has the right medicine to guarantee a full and complete recovery.

  • Computer/entertainment system integration: All of today’s popular digital media players, including the iPod, require that music, photo and video content be stored and managed on a computer. Unfortunately, in most homes, the computer, stereo and TV are located in different rooms. Let us show you how you can use powerful and inexpensive technology to wirelessly stream music and video content to any home entertainment system!

  • Remote Assistance: In some cases, we can solve certain computer problems remotely from our office without visiting your home. One of our technicians can actually logon to your computer via a high-speed Internet connection and take control of your system, all while speaking to you on the telephone. Remote assistance is completely secure – the technician requires your approval to start each remote session, you can watch what he is doing, and you can take control of your computer and stop the remote session at any time.

  • Operating system ("Windows") restoration: Over time, many people find that their computer gets increasingly slower and occasionally freezes up. In many cases, the best course of action is to wipe out the hard drive and re-install Windows.

  • Computer training: Let's face it, Bill Gates and his bunch didn't tell you everything you needed to know before you bought your computer system. We can help you learn how to browse the Web, send and receive e-mail, use your scanner and digital camera, and do just about anything else with your computer!

  • High-speed ("broadband") Internet hook-up: Tired of getting "kicked off" AOL or dealing with the slow performance of dial-up Internet? Many home computer users are opting for high-speed Internet service. We can help you determine if this type of service is available and put you in touch with the right provider. We'll also hook everything up and configure your e-mail accounts.

  • Wireless network installation: If you have more than one computer in the house, and you're considering high-speed Internet, you may also want to consider the installation of a wireless network. This allows you to share a single Internet connection between multiple computers – without fishing wires through the walls!
